Big Indie Pictures is a film and television production company based in New York City. Founded by producer Declan Baldwin and now co-owned with producer Karl Hartman, the genre agnostic company works across film, television, and documentary. Taking a filmmaker forward approach with a great emphasis on strong and unique voices, they have produced many award-winning films and series such as Manchester by the Sea, Still Alice, Captain Fantastic, Eric LaRue, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Daisy Jones & The Six, Swarm amongst others.

FAY was asked to develop a new visual identity and website, signaling the company’s growth and maturation over the years. The identity was developed in collaboration with friend of Big Indie, Bryan Byczek. The updated, paired-back wordmark, is intended to be BIG and bold—two characteristics that are often used to describe the work of the company (as also acknowledged in their name). This approach informs all pieces of the identity from typography, to color, motion characteristics and all other aspects and touchpoints of the brand. Gradient accents were evolved from the previous identity and deployed as pops of color throughout the otherwise neutral palette.

FAY also worked closely with Big Indie on the design of a new website, from content strategy through to visual design, showcasing their work in a more visual manner, while incorporating their new BIG and bold look and feel.
